While Meg McGuire is a native of New York she is also a dual US/Costa Rican citizen. Having traveled to over 20 countries and living in Costa Rica nearly half her life, she is known for her passion for travel, on-the-go lifestyle, and contagious positive energy. Her travel prowess has helped Costa Rica Surf Trip become globally recognized with a certification from IATAN (International Air Transport Association), therefore ensuring to our guests that we are working to the highest standards for travel agencies in the world under her guidance.
Founding of Costa Rica Surf Trip
After Co-Founding Costa Rica Surf Trip LLC / CR Surf Trip SA, Meg became the Director of Planning & Logistics for our trips and vacation packages throughout Costa Rica. Meg speaks English and Spanish fluently and, as a result, is able to conduct business in either language. As an international traveler, an award-winning travel video editor, and surf photographer, she uses all of these skills (and more) to keep Costa Rica Surf Trip running smoothly and looking fabulous! Moreover, many of the photos and videos you see were undoubtedly taken by Meg!
Meg's Role
As Director of Planning & Logistics, Meg is in charge of all things trip preparation and, most importantly, fulfilling client dreams! While her main task is ensuring customers are matched to the correct locations, accommodations, and activities requested, she also actively participates in our surf lessons and surf coaching, offering photo and video services, as well as surf instruction from time to time. No matter where you see her, by all means make sure to share your insight because she is extremely interested in your satisfaction and consistently working to improve the guest experience.
Aside from emails, messages, or video consults, you are also presently likely to see Meg as a guide on some of our vacation packages or during a Build Your Own Trip activity (if you're lucky)! In case you don't see her, you should know that she hand picks our in-house administrative staff and oversees the behind-the-scenes efforts that make your trip perfect from start to finish! In short: you may not see her, but she's always there!

Costa Rica surf trip did an amazing job planning out this DREAM of a trip! Meg helped me build my dream vacation via zoom! There’s a plethora of activities to do in Costa Rica and she had us covered!
Upon arrival in the airport everything was smooth sailing and all our transportation and communication was clear! Our hotel was super accommodating and every moment of the trip was seamless! I would give Costa Rica Surf Trip 100 stars if google would let me!
At the last minute, I decided I wanted to go take a surf trip to CR, and I could not have asked for a better company to help me plan it. They are extremely knowledgeable and give great recommendations for everything... places to visit, activities, food, accommodations, transportation, you name it.
Also, if you're like me and are terrible at planning, Meg was amazing with listening to what I was looking for, and coming up with an itinerary for me that incorporated everything I wanted to do, within my budget, and with activities perfectly scheduled/spread out so that I could enjoy them to the utmost without feeling exhausted. Plus they were very flexible and accommodating if I wanted to make any last minute changes during the trip itself.
In terms of surfing, Meg and Jairo did a great job with planning out locations based on my skill level, and the coaching was amazing! Super patient and encouraging, so much fun, and upped my skills tremendously, even in just a short time.
Bottom line, they truly have your best interest in mind and their ultimate goal is to make sure you're happy, having the best time, and getting exactly what you want (and more) out of your trip! Plus they're just great people to be around. Can't wait to travel with them again!
