About Costa Rica Surf Lessons
Our surf lessons are made to accommodate all ages and abilities at each and every level of your surfing journey! Whether you're a newbie who has never surfed, a beginner who can't catch your own waves (yet!) or an intermediate that feels more comfortable with your instructor in the water, lessons are for you! They include the use of our surfboards, leashes, a protective rash guard, and instruction by our ISA certified, bilingual staff who will give you the basics of surf knowledge and safety before heading into the ocean for in-water instruction & fun!
Private Surf lessons
- 1 on 1 Surf lessons for solo travelers, individuals, and children under 12 years of age.
- Maximum Student to Instructor ratio: 1:1
- Surf Lesson Packages available for 5+ lessons
Semi-Private Surf Lessons
- Surf Lessons for Couples, Surf Lessons for Friends, Surf Lessons for Families with a maximum of 4 guests in the lesson.
- Maximum Student to Instructor ratio: 4:1
Group Surf Lessons
- Surf Lessons for groups of families, friends, universities, students, athletes, school trips, corporate outings and trips of 5 or more guests at a time.
- Surfer to instructor ratio is determined by total group size with a max of 6:1.
- For very large groups (wedding parties, school groups, university groups, corporate groups), we may split into multiple sessions to avoid overcrowding, and to keep instructor ratio low for the best surf experience!

Surf Coaching for Intermediate & Advanced Surfers
Improve your surfing ability with training techniques to combine theory (ocean knowledge, surf etiquette) with physical prowess (balance, flexibility, conditioning) then review your skills with video analysis and put what you learn into action where you're guaranteed to see fast improvement and progress!
2 Hour Surf Coaching Session
Includes 90 min of ocean practice and 30 min of video analysis, the use of our surfboards and leashes (if you need them), protective rash guard, and instruction by our ISA certified, bilingual staff who will give you instructions to hone your talent!
